Growing apples - Inspirational Story

One day I stopped to think about growing apples. I was munching a delicious, juicy apple and took a big bite. As a result I got an apple seed into my mouth. I spat it out into my hand, with the intention of throwing it away. But instead I looked at the apple seed. Really looked. It was very dark brown, almost black. Its shape reminded me of a candle flame. A little dark brown candle flame…

I realised I was holding an apple tree in the palm of my hand. A little seed with the potential to become a beautiful big tree - a tree that could grow thousands of apples in its lifetime. Thousands of apples, each containing several seeds, each capable of growing a new tree which again could produce thousands of apples. Why then the world wasn't filled with apple trees?

It is a rule of nature that only a few of these seeds grow. Most never do or are destroyed early on in their growth.

And it came to my mind it's quite often so with people's dreams also. Wonderful ideas come to our minds but they die too soon - we don't tend to the little saplings, we don't protect them as we should. And then one day we wonder what happened to our dreams - why did they never come true?

I put the apple seed on the table, and bent down to see how the light was reflected from it, this nature's tiny wonder. I wondered when someone was seriously growing apples, how many times they had to try to get a seed to germinate? How much work did it require?

Maybe it was like with our dreams: the seeds of your dreams did not automatically grow. Like planting an apple tree It might take many tries; like a hundred job applications to get that good job. You might send your manuscript out two hundred times before it was accepted. You might meet dozens of people until you met the true friend.

But if you kept on sowing the seeds of your dream, one day you would succeed. And after that others would comment you were lucky to be successful - when in fact you probably failed more often than you would like to count. But you were good at failing - you learned, you adapted, and then with your new knowledge you tried again. And again. And again. And one day success was yours.

I picked up the apple seed again - but instead of throwing it away I took an empty flower pot, poured some earth into it and planted the seed. Maybe one day it would grow into a proud tree. I'd never knew if I didn't try.

Sometimes reality has a way of sneaking up & biting us in the ass. & when the dam bursts, all you can do is swim. The world of pretend is a cage, not a cocoon. We can only lie to ourselves for so long. We are tired, we are scared, denying it doesn't change the truth. Sooner or later we have to put aside our denial & face the world. Head on, guns blazing. De Nile. It's not just a river in Egypt, it's a freakin' ocean. So how do you keep from drowning in it?

Maxis dan 5S

Semlam tido jam 5 pagi after makan2 sket. Huiyoh memang aku tak ngantuk langsung. Mata terbuka aje. Walau bagaimanpun aku buat kerja kerja yang selama ini aku tak amik tau. Aku ni pengguna maxis, lepas je tukar line aku tak amik tau pun langsung feature line ni. Apa yang penting, habis je bulan dapat bil n bayar. 2 minggu sebelum tu aku kena approach oleh owang maxis untuk try Extra Ten. Lepas diterangkan aku on je services tu, sebelum ni aku dah apply for Extra SMS (boleh rebet balik) n Extra Weekend dimana kalau kita call weekend..bayar half je ..maxis 2 maxis. Bayaran RM8..oklah tu

Aku tak followup pun Extra Ten aku..hinggalah dapat bil..aku baru tau aku letak satu no je.. huhu..so arinie aku mengembleng tenaga dan usaha aku untuk meletakkan no yang seswai untuk dimasukkan kedalam maxis aku, ermm.. tak ramai yang lain guna no lain. but its ok, aku ader line lagi satu untuk sms diorang ehe..kira special la tu..

So, ari nie aku duk lepak rumah aje, sambil buat 5S kat meja aku, sisih, susun, sapu seragam, sentiasa amalkan..

PENGENALAN

Pengenalan globalisasi dan liberisasi ekonomi dunia menuntut setiap negara dan warganya berubah mengikut kehendak pasaran dan tuntutan pelanggan. Organisasi tidak mempunyai pilihan selain memperbaiki proses dan sistem penyampaian (delivery system) dengan mempertingkatkan kaedah dan pendekatan yang digunakan.

Pengurusan sumber manusia yang cekap dan berkesan serta suasana kerja yang kondusif merupakan asas dalam pengurusan kualiti organisasi ke arah mencapai prestasi cemerlang.

5S ialah kaedah/alat pengurusan yang diamalkan oleh syarikat-syarikat di negara Jepun. Amalan 5S ini boleh mewujudkan persekitaran kerja yang berkualiti di dalam organisasi, menentukan kepatuhan kepada standard serta dapat memupuk usaha penambahbaikan yang berterusan.

Budaya penambahbaikan berterusan perlu diterapkan dalam Perkhidmatan Awam bagi mempertingkatkan penyampaian perkhidmatan (service delivery) kepada pelanggan. Amalan 5S merupakan salah satu daripada inisiatif kualiti yang amat berkesan dalam usaha untuk menerapkan budaya penambahbaikan di kalangan warga Perkhidmatan Awam Negeri Sarawak. Justeru Amalan 5S ini merupakan penggerak kepada inisiatif-inisiatif kualiti yang lain.

Fokus utama amalan 5S :-

* Mengenalpasti, mengurangkan dan menghapuskan pembaziran di tempat kerja;
* Meningkatkan semangat kerjasama berkumpulan; dan
* Meningkatkan keberkesanan operasi.

FAEDAH PELAKSANAAN AMALAN 5S

Faedah dari pelaksanaan Amalan 5S ialah :

* Tempat menjadi lebih bersih, kemas dan tersusun rapi.
* Operasi organisasi menjadi lebih mudah, pantas dan selamat.
* Hasilnya lebih nyata dan lebih banyak menjanakan idea yang bernas.
* Kerumitan kerja dapat dikurangkan.
* Kadar kerosakan mesin dapat dikurangkan.
* Kesilapan kerja dikurangkan melalui kalis kesilapan (mistake proofing).
* Kaedah dan standard kerja lebih jelas.
* Kawalan stok yang lebih cekap.
* Pengurusan stok yang lebih berkesan.
* Penggunaan ruang kerja yang maksimum.
* Rungutan pelanggan dapat dikurangkan.
* Meningkatkan semangat kerja berpasukan.
* Meningkatkan kecekapan sistem penyampaian.

Aku rasa 5 s ni tak semestinya digunakan di dalam organisasi sahaja tapi untuk kehidupan kita supaya lebih teratur.. cam guna barangan ikea.. semua tersusun..bila nak carik barang on the spot guna. ini dapat emnjiatkan masa dan tenaga..so masa yanga ada tu boleh guna untuk berbuat perkara yang lain..i mean lebih berfaedah so hidup ni lebih organize sket..
